What changed for
Vibe Kanban users.
From Vibe Kanban's own shutdown notice and repository.
bloop, the company behind Vibe Kanban, shut down on 10 April 2026. Its makers said most users were on the free plan and they had not found a business model. Paid plans ended with refunds.
The open-source project lives on under community maintenance, and its README now says it is sunsetting. Local workspaces keep working. The server features, including kanban issues, comments, projects and organisations, were removed 30 days after the shutdown.
So you do not have to move today. If the local version does what you need, keep using it. If you relied on the shared board, or you want something with a company behind it, read on.
Your options
on Windows.
Free ones first, because they are good.
- Stay on the community version if local workspaces are all you use. It is free and still runs with
npx vibe-kanban. - Nimbalyst is the closest match if you want a board: it has a kanban for tasks and sessions, runs Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode, ships Windows installers and is free for individuals.
- Pane is free and open source, runs any terminal agent on Windows, and gives each agent its own git worktree.
- AigoPilot is paid. It has no kanban board. Instead it shows every Claude Code, Codex and Grok session of every project in one window, with its state, sends a Windows notification when one needs you, and then runs the marketing, sales and support of what you built.
We compare these and more in the best Claude Code GUIs for Windows.
