Microsoft Store numbers

A free plugin that reads your Store numbers a few times a day and says how fresh they are.

If a project of yours is an app in the Microsoft Store, the free plugin Microsoft Store numbers shows how many people installed it, how many acquired it and, when the app is sold there, how many bought it and what they paid. It reads those numbers from your own Partner Center account a few times a day and tells you, in one light notice, when new ones come in.

It needs no aigopilot.com account and no AI subscription. Your computer talks to Microsoft with your own keys, and nothing passes through our site.

What you need from Partner Center

Microsoft gives these numbers to an application of Microsoft Entra that is a user of your Partner Center account. If you do not have one there yet:

  1. In Partner Center, open the gear at the top, then Account settings, User management, Microsoft Entra applications.
  2. Add an application, or choose the one you have, with the role Manager or Developer.
  3. Open it and copy its Tenant ID and Client ID. Press Add new key and copy the key's value; Partner Center shows it only once.

Connect a project

  1. Open Marketplace and choose Microsoft Store numbers.
  2. Choose the project.
  3. Paste the Tenant ID, the Client ID and the Key (client secret), and press Connect.

The studio signs in with them, looks for the apps of your account and reads 30 days of installs as a harmless test. If the account has one app, it is chosen; with several, you pick this project's. If the role may read numbers but not list apps, type the app's Store ID, the twelve letters and digits in its address in the Store.

When something is wrong, the page says exactly what and where to mend it in Partner Center: a wrong tenant or client, a key that ran out, or an application that signs in but is not added to the account. The keys stay in this computer's vault, never in the studio's data file or a log. The studio only reads; nothing is written to Partner Center.

Reading the numbers

Microsoft's numbers are not live. A day appears a day or more after it ends, and Microsoft may correct the last ten days. The page always says so above the numbers, with when Microsoft's numbers are from, the newest day with installs, when the studio read them and when it reads next.

  • Installs: every successful install, each device and each reinstall, never an update.
  • Acquisitions: a new customer took the app, free, as a trial or paid, with a breakdown by kind.
  • Sales in the Store: paid acquisitions and in-app purchases, with what buyers paid before Microsoft's share and refunds.

Each has its last 30 days in large figures, with 7 days and everything read under them, and the installs of 30 days drawn as bars. Days are in UTC, as Microsoft counts them. The first read fetches 90 days of history.

The studio reads every four hours while it runs, and Read now reads at once. Each round reads the last 14 days again, to catch Microsoft's corrections.

The notice

With Tell me on, which it is by default, new numbers come as one notice, such as "12 new installs, 9 new acquisitions, 2 sales, US$9.98", at most once an hour for a project, on this computer and your phone. It never comes once per install. A day Microsoft lowers takes nothing back, and the history read at the start is never told. Turn Tell me off and what comes in is counted as told, not saved up for later.

The same block stands under the Stripe sales of the project when both are connected; see Sales through Stripe.

Questions

Why are yesterday's installs missing?

Microsoft's numbers come a day or more late and may be corrected for ten days. The page says when Microsoft's numbers are from and the newest day with installs.
