iPhone notices, sounds and quiet

A short notice when a session needs you, with the sounds chosen on the phone and only the project's name on the lock screen.

The iPhone app tells you when a session finishes, asks you something or needs a permission, even when the app is closed. You choose the sound for each kind of notice on the phone, and the phone decides how loud and how quiet it is, not the studio.

Partly built. A test notice arrived on the maker's iPhone through Apple's push service. A notice of a real waiting session, the lock-screen widget and the live view are built, and none of them has been seen on a phone yet.

Turn notices on

  1. Open the tab Studio in the app.
  2. Turn on Notifications.
  3. Allow notifications when the iPhone asks.

If you refuse, the app says that notifications are off for it in the iPhone's settings, and only the iPhone's settings can change that.

What a notice says and when it comes

A notice comes for a session that finished, asks a question, waits for a permission, stopped midway, or reached the usage limit of its account. A bug report that arrives, and the end of work on one, each give a notice too (see Support to fix). Sessions on your other computers count the same. Sessions you run in VS Code give notices as well, titled with the project and VS Code.

The studio seals each notice for your phone alone and sends it through aigopilot.com and Apple's push service. The lock screen shows only the name of the project, never the title of a session or any of the conversation. A newer notice of the same session replaces the older one, and a notice goes away from the lock screen once the session no longer waits.

The number on the app icon counts only the sessions that wait for an answer or a permission. A long list of finished sessions does not raise it.

Choose the sounds

On the tab Studio open Notification sounds. There are two kinds. When a session asks you covers a question, a permission, a session that stopped midway or hit its limit, and a bug report that arrived. When a session finished covers a finished session and the end of work on a bug report. Each has five sounds and No sound. A tap chooses one and plays it.

Why a notice can be quiet

How loud a notice is belongs to the iPhone: Sounds & Haptics in its settings. The silent switch and a Focus silence notices. Only a question or a permission is marked Time Sensitive, which lets a Focus pass it. An iPhone that sees you looking at it lowers alert sounds too.

The studio asks for one thing only. While you are working in the studio's own window, and in the quiet hours you set in the studio, notices arrive without a sound. They are still delivered. Quiet hours are set in the alert settings of the studio, described in Windows notifications, sound and quiet hours, and the phone keeps that one rule and nothing more.

Telegram, and what is not there

If you connected your own Telegram bot, the same short notes reach your phone through the Telegram app; see Alerts to your own Telegram bot.

The widget and the live view are meant to show three numbers on the lock screen: how many sessions wait for you, how many work and how many finished, plus the project that has waited longest. Turning Notifications off also switches them off.

Small tips

Make finished sessions silent but keep the asking sound

In Notification sounds each kind has its own list. Choose No sound under When a session finished and keep a sound under When a session asks you.

Questions

Does a notice show what my session is doing?

No. The lock screen shows only the project's name, never a session title or a word of the conversation.

Why did a notice arrive without a sound?

The silent switch or a Focus can silence it, and the studio sends it without sound while you work in its own window or during its quiet hours.
