What you need before you start
A Windows computer, one signed-in AI tool and an internet connection. The studio installs the rest on your yes.
You need a Windows computer, an internet connection and an account for at least one of the AI tools: Claude Code, Codex or Grok. AigoPilot does not sell or resell model access, so the tool's subscription or key is paid to its maker, separately from AigoPilot.
Everything else on the list below can be installed for you, on your yes, once the studio is running.
Partly built. Windows 11 is fully tested. Windows 10 is being tested and works as far as it has been checked. There is no studio for Mac or Linux.
The computer
The studio runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The installer is a small file, about 12 MB, and it installs for your user only, so it needs no administrator rights. It uses Microsoft's WebView2 runtime to draw its window. Windows 11 has it, and so does a Windows 10 that is up to date. If yours does not, the installer carries Microsoft's small fetcher and downloads the runtime for you.
The tools have requirements of their own. For Claude Code, Anthropic asks for Windows 10 version 1809 or later and 4 GB of memory. Read the page of the tool you use before you count on an old machine.
An idle studio with no session open was measured at about 560 MB of memory on the developer's own computer in October 2026, and close to zero processor use. Every open session adds to that, because each one is a program of the tool running beside the studio. The processor and memory view shows what each session costs.
An account for an AI tool
One tool is enough to start, and you can add the others later.
- Claude Code: a Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan, or a Console account billed by API usage. The free claude.ai plan does not include Claude Code.
- Codex: an account that Codex accepts, such as a ChatGPT plan.
- Grok: an account that the Grok command-line tool accepts.
Signing in is done in the tool's own window and in your browser. AigoPilot opens that sign-in but never sees what you type into it. If you have more than one subscription for the same tool, add them as accounts.
What the studio can install for you
When a tool is missing, its row says Not on this computer and offers Install. Before it does anything, the studio lists what it will install, which maker's installer it will run, from which address, and into which folder. Nothing runs until you press Install in that box. The tools go into your own user folder and need no administrator. Signing in afterwards is yours to do.
Beyond the three tools, the studio looks at a project's own files and names what the project needs on that computer: Node.js, Docker Desktop, Python, Rust and Git. It installs them with winget, Windows' own installer, only when you click. Docker Desktop has terms of its own, so you must accept them first. For a Unity project it can install the editor version the project was saved with, through Unity's own command-line tool. That download is several gigabytes, and the studio checks that the drive has room before it starts. Windows may ask for an administrator on the screen of that computer for some of these.
Disk space and internet
The studio's own index of your sessions is one file in your user folder, rebuilt from the tools' transcripts if needed. The first look at a large history takes a moment: on the developer's machine, 3,173 session files (2.6 GB) were read in 16 seconds. After that, only changed sessions are read.
You need the internet for the tools themselves, for their sign-in, for installs and for updates. The studio's own work, such as searching your sessions, is local.
Other computers
A Mac or a second Windows computer can run sessions for your studio through a small agent program. That is covered in working on another computer. To buy AigoPilot, see plans and your account, then install it.
Questions
Do I need a Claude Code subscription to use AigoPilot?
You need an account for at least one of Claude Code, Codex or Grok. One is enough. It is paid to the tool's maker, not to AigoPilot.
Does AigoPilot run on Windows 10?
Windows 10 is supported, but Windows 11 is the one fully tested so far. Windows 10 is being tested.
